Comments from buyers

“Personal air cooler, Nice and cool and we are pleased, Highly recommended”

Genuinely throws out cold air. Bedroom at night and home office use. Probably won’t work well in a large room but perfect for a bedroom on a stuffy night. Much better than a standard fan that spits out warm air.

Not as powerful as i had hoped you have to have really close.

Love this personal air cooler. In this heat it has helped me sleep (quiet enough on low speed to have it running through the night). Don’t carry it elsewhere once you have filled tank, as it says in instruction booklet, it will leak. Perfect for home, office, caravan/camper use anywhere you have access to usb plug/port.

Surprisingly good for its size. Cooled enough to allow undisturbed sleep. Even through the hottest parts of the year.

It is like a mini air conditioner. It is noisy on the medium & high setting, but reasonably quiet on the low setting (and it cools the air quite sufficiently on the low setting).

Fantastic for hot sticky nights. Quiet, gentle stream of cool air. Does exactly what it says it will.

After being signed for at the wrong address, down the track. But it is difficult to find our address at times. Nice and cool and we are pleased, but it doesn’t seem to have a power supply, so adapted with a mobile phone one.

Just in time to beat the arrival of the heat wave and it works a treat. . Ideal for a bedroom or lounge.

For all you like minded (hot) menopausal girls out there, this is fabulous for the home.

Please note that i’ve only had this… sorry. These coolers (i brought another one) for about 48hours. That being said, they really do work very well. So you’re not going to get ice cold, air-conditioned cold air that comes from a machine costing hundreds and hundreds of pounds. When you buy one of these coolers, you should realise this. But considering this machine costs a penny short of £33, it’s working really well (and i for one, am pleasantly surprised)i’ve not taken any thermal readings of “before” and “after” air temperatures. I don’t need to know that as i can feel the difference. But let’s just say, as i sit here writing this, that my right-hand side, where the cooler is, is getting decidedly “chilled”. And that’s on the lowest fan setting too.

Bought this as a desperation measure in the heatwave last summer. It works by having a revervoir of cold water that is drawn up by a pool onto some paper which is then evaportaed and blown by the fan outwars, theoretically creating a cooling effect. I can safely say i never experienced any discernible cooling effect. The only “success” of the device was to expel slightly wet air. This is not something i have said on previous reviews i have provided but i think some of the reviews for this product must be fake as there is no way this device can be doing what is claimed elsewhere.

The unit drank tons of water in a very short time after few days it started to smell like a dirty fish tank. Removing the filter i found it had started to fall apart and had turned black with mould.

First of all- this product doesn’t work. Save yourself the money and buy a small 5$ fan, it is much more powerful than this. This has the same amount of cooling power as someone blowing air on your face. But the worst thing of all is that after one week of minimal use (used it barely 3 times) there was visible mould on the filter. The inside was leaking and the air started to smell terrible. The whole filter disintegrated within a week and a half of use due to mould. And i don’t want to buy new filters for a product that doesn’t work. What a huge waste of money, seriously- buy a cheap fan, or something else.

It does produce nice cool air but it leaks water, i’ve just come home from work to find it has leaked all over a first edition copy of moby dick, an ipad and a picture of my daughter. A quicker way to replicate the experience of having this fan would be to take the money you’d spend on this and buy some ice and throw it all over yourself. You’ll be able to settle down all nice and cool and be secure in the knowledge that you’ll have water damage to deal with later on down the line.

The ability for manufacturers to create fads for delusional consumers to instantly latch on to is too, too depressing. Just like jack, we in the first world have less sense than money to fritter on magic beans. Devices such as these would not bring any room temperature down by even half a degree. It’s basically blowing moistened air over your body mimicking the effect of sweating in a breeze. You can create exactly the same effect by using a piece of thin cotton (handkerchief sized) kept dipped into a bowl of water and placed or pegged onto your fans protective cage cover. The cotton will act as a wick drawing moisture into itself which the fan would blow through creating moving moist air which will help you to keep a wee bit cooler. A much cheaper solution and one which has no negative environmental effects (just how much of that predominantly plastic product will end up poisoning fish as it’s set floating in an ocean a few years from now?.
